“Making the most of life in Berkshire and beyond”
Jodie – Maidenhead Mum
Hi, thanks for visiting ‘Maidenhead Mum’
Here you’ll find posts and reviews about my life here in Maidenhead with two small children. I write about a broad selection of subjects, from family friendly restaurants, things to do at half term and even where to go on ‘date night’ in Maidenhead and the surrounding areas. I am always looking for new ideas and experiences so please get in touch if you’d like to share your story on the blog.

One of the great things about living in Maidenhead is that there are some pretty awesome places on our doorstep. Savill Gardens in Windsor Great Park is one of them. I’ve taken my daughter there, and we’ve had a winter pony ride and have played in the children’s...read more
Putting Maidenhead on the Map
In 2016, I started tagging my photos of Maidenhead on Instagram with #lovemaidenhead and encouraged the community to get involved. The hashtag has now been used over 1000 times! All you have to do is take a photo of something you love in and around Maidenhead, share it on Instagram and use the hashtag #lovemaidenhead. It doesn’t have to be a photographic masterpiece, just something you snap on your phone. There’s no need to limit yourself to things in the centre of town, it can be anything within a short distance of Maidenhead that you have the privilege to enjoy as a Maidenhead resident. I’ll do a regular roundup of 9 photos with the #lovemaidenhead tag and share on my ‘Maidenhead Mum’ Instagram and Maidenhead Mum Facebook page.
If you want to see more images of Maidenhead, why not buy my Maidenhead calendar which has over 40 images of Maidenhead and includes all of the community dates for the rest of the year. Just click on the calendar section here on my site or visit the Craft Coop shop in town to buy one.
In Maidenhead, we’ve had the promise of new restaurants and bars for a while, but while we wait for the regeneration plans to kick off fully, I find that many people seem to nip to Marlow or Windsor for a night out. The Real Greek Restaurant in Reading claims to...read more
When you have children, or when you have friends and family visiting with children, it suddenly dawns on you that you need some very specific knowledge about Maidenhead. You might know that there’s a park at the end of the road… but where do you go if it’s raining? Or...read more
When I was younger, the ultimate torture that my mum could inflict was to make me watch Gardener’s World. It was just soooo boring! And to be fair, despite now being a homeowner with a decent sized garden, I’m still not really that interested in flowers and plants. I...read more
Learn with me
As an established blogger and photographer, I now also run short, informal training courses to help small businesses learn how to use content marketing and blogging to engage with their customers. And, seeing as photography has always been such a big part of my blog and my life, I also run sessions on how to take great photos with your smartphone, a question I get asked a lot!
You can find out more about either of these courses using the contact form or by emailing me: firstname.lastname@example.org
Email subscribers get my blog posts delivered straight into their inbox with a unique ‘trade secrets’ photography tip with each email. Your details will never be shared with third parties, just a blog post or two from me each month.
