What do snowdrops, fireworks and Chicken Katsu curry have in common?

They were all enjoyed by people living in Maidenhead and shared with the #lovemaidenhead photography project in February!

In case you’ve not heard of the project, it’s a community based photo challenge to help Maidenhead get the recognition it deserves for being a great place to live. It takes place on Instagram and anyone with an Instgram account can join in by tagging their photo with #lovemaidenhead. You can see the first round up and read more about it here.

Maidonians recommending Maidenhead

Seeing as February saw some pretty grey and dismal weather in Maidenhead, this month’s collection has a mix of indoors and outdoors activities. Although when the sun did come out we were blessed with some pretty awesome winter sunshine. I particularly like the shot of the rower in the mist on the Thames shared by @k_aterina (image 6 on the grid)

Putting Maidenhead on the Map

#LoveMaidenhead isn’t just a project for me; I’d like as many people in Maidenhead to get involved and share their photos. It doesn’t have to be a photographic masterpiece, it can be something you snap on your phone. There’s no need to limit yourself to things in the center of town, it can be anything within a short distance of Maidenhead that you have the privilege to enjoy as a Maidenhead resident. One of the perks of living in Maidenhead is that we have so many great places right on our doorstep. I’ll do a regular roundup of 9 photos with the #lovemaidenhead tag and share on my ‘Maidenhead Mum’ Instagram and ‘Maidenhead Mum’ Facebook profiles.

The second #lovemaidenhead collection

I’m so pleased to be able to say that despite starting this project in the darkest, coldest part of the year, month 2 has seen over double the amount of photos using #lovemaidenhead being posted!
